They are now suffering the results of consistently living beyond their means.
Maintaining your wealth alone is not sufficient due to inflation. If you do not increase it, inflation will erode it over time.
To prevent this you need to add one further step to the second key.
That is to re-invest the returns of your investments to earn compound growth.
This is where you have your money working for you.
The financially successful continue to re-invest the profits of their investments until the sum of all their investments are producing a source of income large enough to provide for all their needs without ever having to work again.
That is the power of compounding.
Being wealthy does not in itself make you feel secure. Many wealthy people fear losing all their wealth overnight as can happen.
Being wealthy dramatically increases your chances of being sued.
Dishonest people will target the wealthy as they know that they have the most to gain from them.
However it is possible to protect your assets from frivolous lawsuits.
Study what the major players are doing and how they are protecting their assets and copy them.
If you believe that money is the end and not the means, then it will not make you happy.
Money in itself cannot make you happy.
Share your happiness with those you care about. Learn the joy of giving.
Contributing to others less fortunate is one of the greatest joys of life.
By giving away some of your income to others less fortunate, you are telling your brain you have more than enough.
