Internet Marketing Promotion and the Power of Words

Throughout the course of history words have been used to change the course of destiny.

The liberty most of us enjoy today was won for us by our ancestors who chose words that inspired others to powerful acts that made the world a better place.

Such is the power of words.

They form our beliefs and also have the power to change our beliefs

Anthony Robbins, in his book Awaken the Giant Within tells us that most of us are unaware of our own power to use words to;

move ourselves emotionally, to challenge, embolden, and strengthen our spirits, to move ourselves to action, to seek greater riches from this gift we call life

To control and improve our lives we must ensure that the words we use habitually pull us towards where we wish to go and not where we wish to avoid.

Use positive words and avoid negative words.

For example instead if ‘I hate’ use ‘I would prefer’. Instead of telling your children, ‘don’t do that’, tell them what you want them to do. You are far more likely to get them to do it.

In his book ‘Remember The Ice’, Bob Nicoll tells the story of the shopkeeper who had difficulty selling his stocks of ice despite the fact it was 103 degrees and despite having placed a sign over the cash register saying, ‘Don’t Forget The Ice’.

Bob, on visiting his store changed the wording on the sign for him to read ‘Remember the Ice’.

The results were immediate and dramatic. The shopkeeper could not keep up with the demand.

It is important to remember that when wording an Internet marketing promotion to give positive and clear instructions.

Avoid words like can’t, don’t won’t. Use instead can, do, will.

Words can have the effect of making situations worse than they really are.

For example if you have a less than successful Internet marketing promotion. What you say to yourself will determine if you will go on to succeed in the future or not.

For example, if you say ‘This always happens to me’ or ‘I always fail’ or I will never get this to work’. Do you think this will lead to your next promotion being any different? Definitely not.

Try using more positive language when speaking to yourself. It will propel you towards future successes. The future is all that matters. The past cannot be changed – learn from it and move on.

We also adopt some of the emotional patterns of people we spend lots of time with by adopting some of their habitual vocabulary. Think of how you would benefit from hanging out with passionate, driven, confident, enthusiastic, creative and fascinating people.
